NO RACCOONS HERE!

So remember how back in February I said that the next pencil I wanted to try was the YSL DESSIN DU REGARD WATERPROOF EYELINER? Well, I did, and I LOVE!~

Over the weekend I tried it, and it is seriously amazing.  So amazing that even my own mother was impressed, and has made plans to purchase this eyeliner despite the ridiculous price tag of $28. (FYI, my mama is not one to shell out 30 bucks for eyeliner.)

The texture is so soft, that it just glides on your lid like gel. No pulling, no tugging, no pressing hard... The color I have is called inky black, and the name suits it well; it is super rich/dark black. $28 dollars will get you the eyeliner and a sharpener.

Saturday:  I put on my face (BB Cream, YSL liner for super thick lining of my top lid, and blush) at about 11:00 AM, and took it off around midnight.  I had it on for about 13 hours with NO touch-ups, and it held up well with minimal smudging, especially considering I did not have primer on my lids.

Sunday: I put on my face around 11:00 AM the same way as Saturday except this time I added the UD Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Original before drawing a super thick line to my top lids.  Ran errands with the hubs, went out to the soccer field for a few hours and watched the hubs play soccer OUTSIDE IN THE HEAT AND HUMIDITY! Came home to find almost NO SMUDGING and absolutely NO RACCOON EYES! Took my face off around 10:30 with no touch-ups.

Needless to say, I'm extremely pleased with this eyeliner. I give this product an A- to an A for sure, and the only reason why it could be an A- is because of the high price tag. It's up to you to decide whether or not this product is worth the money.  As for me, I will most definitely add this product to my list of "repeat buys". Good job YSL!

Hope ya'll enjoyed my review!

I have my eyes on you!!

YSL DESSIN DU REGARD WATERPROOF EYELINER

This one is next on my list to try!

YSL

According to Sephora ($25), "This eyeliner offers the look of a liquid with the ease of a pencil. Its formula offers intense, shimmering color in nearly any circumstance for up to 16 hours of beautiful wear."

According to YSL ($28), "The look of a liquid with the precision of a pencil. This exceptional long-lasting waterproof eye pencil will stay put on your lids for up to 16 hours!"

Why are the prices slightly different? I have no idea. All I can think of is that Sephora is selling the older version, while YSL has come out with a "new" version. I'm willing to bet they are the same. Either way I got my eyes set on 'em! :)

Nars Larger Than Life Pencil Eyeliner Review

As you know, I ordered this eyeliner a while back, but I haven't had a chance to test it out. I had really really high hopes for this pencil, but after using it this weekend, I must say that I am a tad disappointed. All in all it's a good eyeliner and i give it a B+...

PROS:
  • Long lasting (for a pencil)
  • Automatic/Twist-Up, no sharpening required
  • Built-in sharpener: although sharpening is not required, there is a little sharpener if you want a nice point on the liner.
  • Minimal transfer to bottom lids after eyeliner is set
  • Short setting time, which is nice not to have to keep your eyes half closed waiting for your eyeliner to set...

CONS:
  • Hard: It's not creamy or gel like, making it a bit hard to apply smoothly. (You can probably remedy this my taking the pencil to a blow dryer for 2-3 seconds to soften the lead. Be careful not to over heat the pencil, because you will ruin it!)
  • Price: $23 is a lot of dinero for a B+ eyeliner, especially when I apply super thick lines.
  • Availability: Always sold out everywhere you go, which is REALLY annoying...
I may have hyped this liner up too much at first... Now I'm bring it back down to reality... LOL

Another Good Pencil

TOO FACED PERFECT EYES:  I give it a B... It's very creamy and easy to use.  The color I used is called "Perfect Brown" which is a very true brown color, not too light, not too dark... Very good color for people who don't like the harshness of black liners.  Also, good for the bottom lash/water line. Once you let this liner set, it's stay power is pretty good, VERY minimal smudging/transfer after set.  The price is mid-range at $18.

The only problem I have with this eyeliner is that it doesn't sharpen smoothly. It sharpens to a point where it it is fully functional, but it doesn't sharpen evenly... which bothers me, because it's not pretty when I open the cap.

Final thoughts, I would recommend this eyeliner, but I can only vouch for the brown. :)

New from Urban Decay

I totally wanna check this out! I love a good BLACK eyeliner, and I'd love to see just how black it is... Not to mention, test out the smudge factor... O, how I hate the raccoon eyes... Also FYI, there are some really good things on sale at Urban Decay, so check it out!

Racoon Eyes!!

I am constantly on the lookout for the best pencil eyeliners... I wear a lot of eyeliner... all at once. I like my eyes to be lined with a dark, matte, and super thick black line. It is so hard to find a good pencil that is bold in color, that won't smudge/transfer to your bottom lids, and that will last for more an 10 minutes!

At last! I found the best pencil on the market... Nars Larger Than Life Long Wear Eyeliner... SO GOOD! $23 is a bit high for eyeliner, especially when you consider how much I use at one time but I NEED IT! Unfortunately, it's sold out in Black (Via Veneto) at all my local Nars retailers. So of course, I had to order it online... Expecting it to come in Thursday!  YAY!

Also totally loving the beige color (Rue Bonaparte).   :)
